New Study Abroad opportunities (Issue 8, 2009)

La Trobe students have now more choices for exchange programs

Last month La Trobe University signed a Study Abroad and exchange Agreement with the Berlin School of Economics and Law, the first partnership of this type that the prestigious school has with a Melbourne University.

Two representatives from the German institution visited La Trobe in order to finalise the agreement. Professor Ingo Fisher and Ms Katja Zuehlsdorf met with key staff from La Trobe International and the Faculty of Law and Management, including Dr Terri Joiner, Head of the School of Management and Professor Sisira Jayasuriya from the School of Economics and Finance.

To kick-start the partnership, the Berlin School of Economics and Law offered one scholarship for the summer school to go to a business or economics student from La Trobe, which covers almost all expenses, including a lump sum for travel and accommodation.

The Berlin School of Economics and Law is one of Germany’s leading universities, which recently merged with the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Law. The School is unique in offering many of its 26 programs on all aspects of economics and related disciplines in English, as well as an International Summer School.
