The experience of studying in another country is something so unique and enriching that every student, whether local or international, should consider it seriously.

La Trobe University has partnerships with over 100 universities around the world, which allows students to take up a six month or a one year exchange in a country of their choice, and continue to receive credits for their degree at La Trobe.

La Trobe’s partnerships with Indian universities allow students to take up exchange programs in either Chennai at SRM University, Jain University in Bangalore or Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) in New Delhi. Students from any faculty and any campus can apply and the language of instruction is English.

‘This is an ideal time to consider studying in India. We have exchange relations with three leading institutions in India and we offer support and scholarships for La Trobe students,’ says La Trobe Abroad Manager, Ms Dawn Koban.

Living in a foreign country, immersed in a different culture can be a life changing experience exposing people to new opportunities and revealing new strengths and interests.

‘The exchange programme at Lady Shri Ram College for Women has been such an enriching adventure. I have learned so much about myself through the process of adapting to a new system and environment. My instructors made it a point to insure my time there was successful and increasingly beneficial to my education. What I loved most of all is the girls who have shared their vivid life and culture with me. Many of these girls I consider my family. Some of them think of me as a Diddi, but they all had just as much to teach me about life as I did them,’ says Elizabeth Swager about her exchange to New Delhi.

La Trobe offers mobility grants and scholarships to support students going on exchange. For more information, please visit our exchange pages.
