La Trobe announces free library membership for all alumni (Issue 10, 2013)
La Trobe University has announced an exciting new initiative, providing all alumni (including graduates and former students and staff) with free access to a range of online library resources.
The University continues to work to strengthen its ties and engagement with its alumni who are spread across over 100 countries worldwide.
The University launched this initiative in response to a growing need from alumni for access to high-quality information and resources.
The initiative waives the existing AUD$88 access fee and provides alumni with free access to library resources including a limited range of scholarly databases and research journals.
La Trobe University understands that the learning experience of our students shouldn’t cease upon graduation and is aware of the important role it can play in continuing the education of its alumni. To thrive in the modern workplace increasingly requires people to be active learners for life. Easy access to high-quality information and resources is one of the ways our alumni can continue their learning journey with La Trobe, regardless where they live.
To access the free online library membership, alumni must first sign-up to La Trobe University’s free online community, AlumniConnect. Alumni seeking to borrow library materials at our campus libraries may do so for a one off AUD$25 fee for a borrowing card.
