Staff support

For assistance, submit an LMS helpdesk request.  You can also call the ICT Service Desk direct on extension 1500 or email ict.servicedesk@latrobe.edu.au.  Problems may include trouble logging in, network and LMS access issues and issues with your browser.

A SUPPORT RESOURCES DATABASE has been developed in the Teaching and Learning Hub subject on the LMS.  It contains categorised information and ‘How To’ documents about LMS tools and functions, as well as PebblePad and Collaborate.  You will need to login to the Teaching and Learning Hub using your La Trobe username and password to access the database.

Training in the LMS, PebblePad and Collaborate is run during student free times of the academic year (semester breaks etc).  Check the Training page for more information.

Student support

If you intend to use the LMS in your teaching, it is vital that your students know this and are given clear expectations of what is required of them. Students will need to know where and how to log in and who to approach if they encounter problems.

Students should be provided with a printed version of access information, including username and password protocols. A document has been prepared which includes a standard version of this information however you can add information particular to your LMS subject. If your students are required to be on campus, you could present this information at their first lecture or tutorial.

Where do Students go for Help?

In the first instance, students should go to the LMS Student Information website. This website contains Student Guides and links to student help with:

  • Logging in
  • Browsers and settings
  • Accessing the Internet
  • Getting plugins
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
