A Designer of a subject in the LMS has a number of responsibilities.  These incorporate adding staff and ensuring that your students can obtain access. Applying to populate the LMS subject with student data should be done at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the teaching period.

LMS/WebCT Administration
site.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Resetting the LMS Subject.  Resetting a subject removes all student data and student interaction within the subject in the Learning Management System.  A Designer will need to do this to prepare the LMS Subject for new students in the next teaching period.   Resetting the subject also creates a backup which can be restored by LMS Administrators if necessary.
  • Making and archiving regular backups of the subject.   If significant design or content changes are made, it may be prudent to back up the subject prior to making the changes so that it can be restored if the changes are not suitable. The subject should also be backed up and archived at the end of each teaching period. Resetting the subject will create a backup automatically.
