The MSPF offers mass spectrometry services to the La Trobe community, including staff and students, as well as to external users.

Prices are per sample, exclusive of GST. Prices for samples that result in one or more database matches are the same as the price for samples where no significant match is found.
Services include:
- MS data acquisition
- Reverse phase LC (ESI MS/MS and MALDI-tof/tof-MS)
- Mascot database searching
- Standard report.
Other services
Special sample treatment can be discussed and a price will be provided upon application.
Sample submission
For all new projects, a written submission is required, indicating the scope of the work and an estimate of the number of samples to be processed in a specified time. This will help to manage the workflow of the facility and to ensure response to all requests are made in a considered manner.
Please complete an application form [DOC_116KB] and submit with your samples.
Provide as much information as possible on this form, e.g. brief explanation of the experiment, experimental conditions, gel image etc.
Please contact us to discuss the scope of the required services, projected fees and preparation of samples prior to submission. Poor data quality is almost always a consequence of poor or inappropriate sample preparation.

Fee policy
The fee represents cost recovery for personnel and consumables - not for mass spectrometry expertise. If expertise is required, then a collaboration should be discussed with MSPF staff.
