MALDI TOF/TOF

Ultraflex III MALDI-TOF/TOF MS with 'Smartbeam' Laser

The Ultraflex III is a Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption / Ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer (MALDI-TOF/TOF) that provides the high resolution and mass accuracy required for analysis of a wide range of biomolecules. Features include:
  • Fragmentation analysis or sequencing of peptides
  • Mass accuracy to within 150-300 ppm for proteins
  • MS/MS for de novo sequencing of peptides
  • LC-MALDI proteomics workflow
  • Proteineer fc MALDI-spotting robot (see below)
  • 384 MTP format
  • Transponder coding for sample tracking.

For further information see Bruker.

micrOTOF-Q TOF MS sources

The micrOTOF-Q, a benchtop ESI-Q-q-TOF mass spectrometer, is equipped for requirements in metabolomics, proteomics and drug development. Features include:
  • Suitable for de novo sequencing of peptides
  • Online NanoElectrospray source
  • Dionex Nano LC
  • Mass accuracy 3 ppm with internal calibration
  • Mass accuracy 5 ppm with external calibration.

For further information see Bruker.

HCTultra

HCTultra PTM Discovery System Ion-Trap MS with Electron Transfer Dissociation sources

Electron transfer dissociation (ETD) is a fragmentation technique that preserves post-translational modifications. ETD MS/MS spectra of peptides can be collected on-the-fly during LC/MS/MS runs using the HCTultra PTM Ion Trap. Features include:
  • Online NanoElectrospray source
  • Dionex Nano LC.

For further information see Bruker.

Esquire 6000 Ion-Trap MS sources

The Esquire 6000 uses an electrospray ion source (ESI) for mass identification and sequencing of small molecules, peptides and macromolecules. Features include:
  • Orthogonal electrospray ionisation source
  • Mass range 50-3000 (extended analytical range)
  • MS/MS capable
  • Analytical Dionex LC.

For further information see Bruker.

Q-Star

QSTAR pulsar MS/MS System with electrospray ion source

The QSTAR is a tandem quadrupole time-of-flight (QqTOF) mass spectrometer. Samples are introduced using the electrospray ion source. Electrospray samples can be introduced using a 'static' spray needle, off line, or on-line in conjunction with high performance liquid chromatography (Aglient 1080).

Liquid Chromatography System

UltiMate 3000 Intelligent LC System

Features include:
  • RSLC for Ultrafast/high resolution LC applications
  • Unique x2 dual system for ultrahigh throughput
  • Automated off-line multidimensional separations.

For more information see Dionex.

Robots

Proteineer Fc MALDI Spotting Robot

The PROTEINEER fc is a liquid handler for post-column MALDI preparation of LC separated peptide fractions. The system collects samples from LC systems and deposits them onto MALDI targets or well plates for MS/MS analysis.

Features include:

  • Spots fractions from HPLC separation directly onto MALDI target plates
  • Transponder coding for sample tracking.

For more information see Bruker.

Gel Cutting Robot

Proteineer spII spot-picking robot sources

A modified digital scanner serves as the spot-picking platform. The software allows for manual selection of single spots by mouse-click on the scanned gel image. The individual x,y-coordinates, together with the corresponding position of the excised spot on the microtiter plate.

Pick and cut spots from 1D or 2D gels and transfer gel slices to four by 96-well format for high-throughput tryptic digestion.

For further information see Bruker.
