La Trobe Lifeskills Open Day - June 2 2009
La Trobe Lifeskills is a Registered Training Provider (RTO) and one of Victoria's leading providers of day programs to young people living with disability. We are unique in our approach and offer programs which engage everyone in meaningful activity and relationships whilst participating as fully as possible in the broader community. We are based on the La Trobe University Bundoora Campus where participants take full advantage of campus life afforded by a major university. Our government accredited programs offer on-site employment opportunities in our Lifeskills Cafe, Hire Works and Car Wash. Participants involved in these programs are enrolled in the Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations), Certificate I Work Education and Certificate I Transition Education. For participants who are looking for innovative and creative day programs La Trobe Life Skills also provides an art program leading to an art exhibition at respected metropolitan and regional galleries, sport and recreational activities across a broad spectrum of interests and abilities, voluntary participation in community organisations, a functional life skills program that encourages participants to gain greater independence and regular overnight and weekend activities that engage participants in a variety of outdoor activities and experiences.
