Eagle Bar, functions and venue hire
Eagle Bar
The Eagle Bar is an exciting venue featuring a retractable glass canopy, open fireplaces and a winter garden. Seating in excess of 500 people, the Eagle Bar and Bistro is a great place for a drink, a bite to eat or just a place to relax. The Bar is open from midday, Monday to Friday. Private functions are welcome.
Entertainment in the form of live bands and DJ’s are regular events during semester, especially on Thursday bar-nights. Check the Ratsheet for details.
Bottle shop
A bottle shop is located in the Union Building next to the Eagle Bar. A large range of wine, beer and spirits are available and deliveries can be arranged for large orders. There are monthly wine and spirit specials. The bottle shop accepts most credit and transaction cards.
Footy Tipping competition
The Eagle Bar also runs a not-for-profit Footy Tipping competition, which is open to both students and staff and costs $20 to enter.

Functions / Venue hire
La Trobe provides a diverse range of function rooms, catering from two people up to 1200. We boast an extensive range of seminar rooms and lecture theatres, excellent and varied catering services and venues to suit your every need. State of the art audio visual facilities including video conferencing, and access to the internet are available for hire at extremely competitive rates.
La Trobe is a self-contained community with all the facilities of a small city. Set in 196 hectares of unique, natural surroundings the academic and recreational facilities and other services of the University provide a stimulating environment for learning and social interaction.
Our dedicated staff will be pleased to assist you with your busy conference schedule, luncheon, dinner or cocktail reception. Our versatility in menu selection is extensive, enabling you to choose from any of our base menus, create your own, or leave all the hard work to us to design a special menu to specifically meet your personal requirements. Please note that there is a 10% surcharge on Saturdays and a 15% surcharge on Sundays and Public Holidays.
