Sport

Sport at La TrobeLa Trobe has extensive sports facilities at our two largest campuses, Melbourne (Bundoora) and Bendigo. These facilities include an indoor swimming pool, rock-climbing and abseiling facilities, tennis courts, an indoor field house, sports ovals, gymnasiums and a variety of sporting clubs and activities.

All other campuses are near great community sports facilities.

On-Campus Sports Facilities and Services

Melbourne (Bundoora)

The Sports Centre at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus has a fully equipped gym, squash/racquetball and tennis courts, volleyball, badminton, indoor soccer, netball and basketball courts, a 25-metre pool with a deep water pit, and dance and yoga studios.

The centre also offers group exercise classes, dance classes, pilates and yoga. Tuition in most sports can be arranged and courts can be hired to students at discounted rates. The Centre also offers deep tissue and trigger point sports massage.

Bendigo

At the Bendigo campus, the Evolution Sports and Fitness Centre offers discount rates for students. Facilities include a sports hall, weight room and gymnasium. The BSA (Bendigo Student Association) organise activities in a large range of sports.

Off-Campus Sports Facilities

La Trobe has some great facilities available off-campus. We have use of a ski lodge in Mount Buller’s alpine village, access to a synthetic hockey pitch in Reservoir, and Rowing Club members have access to the boat sheds on the Yarra River, Melbourne. See the Sports Centre website for more information.

Sports and Outdoor Education Degrees

Why not study sport and leisure management or outdoor education?

The Faculty of Law and Management offers a Bachelor of Business (Sport and Leisure Management) and Graduate Diploma (Sport and Leisure Management).

The School of Outdoor Education and the Environment offers a number of degrees in physical, outdoor and environmental education.
