Sport
We have extensive sports facilities at our two largest campuses, Melbourne and Bendigo. These include an indoor swimming pool; rock-climbing and abseiling facilities; tennis, basketball, and squash courts; sports ovals and gymnasiums.
On-Campus Sports Facilities and Services
Melbourne
The Sports Centre at our Melbourne campus offers a range of facilities and services. They include:
- a fully equipped gym
- squash/racquetball and tennis courts
- volleyball courts/badminton/indoor soccer/netball/basketball courts
- a 25-metre pool with a deep water pit
- dance and yoga studios
- deep tissue and trigger point sports massage.
Tuition in most sports can be arranged and courts can be hired to students at discounted rates. The Sports Centre also offers a range of group exercise classes. These include:
- dance
- pilates
- yoga
- low impact cardiovascular
- body sculpt/pump
- high intensity cardiovascular
- step
- taebox/boxing.

Bendigo
The Evolution Sports and Fitness Centre at our Bendigo campus offers discount rates for students. The centre features a:
- sports hall
- weight room
- gymnasium.
The BSA (Bendigo Student Association) organise activities for a large range of sports.

Off-Campus Sports Facilities
La Trobe has some great facilities available off-campus. These include:
- a ski lodge in Mount Buller’s alpine village
- a synthetic hockey pitch in Reservoir
- rowing boat sheds on the Yarra River, Melbourne (for Rowing Club members).

Sports and Outdoor Education Degrees
Why not study sport and leisure management or outdoor education?
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Law offers a Bachelor of Business (Sport Management).
The School of Outdoor Education and the Environment offers a number of degrees in physical, outdoor and environmental education.
