Melbourne campus extended hours
Students and staff can use level 1 of the Melbourne campus library during extended evening hours.
You must register your student or staff card at least 24 hours before you need access by completing the Access Registration form. If you have not received access after 24 hours, contact Security directly on 9479 2012.
You will need to re-register for extended hours at the start of each year
For safety reasons, you need to leave at 10 pm Monday to Thursday, 6 pm on Fridays and 5pm on weekends and re-enter using your staff/student card.
Please note: you will only gain access to the library during extended hours if you present with your current student/staff card.

Services available
The Reserve area, including copiers and self-check machines, is open.
The study booths, group study rooms and open study areas on level 1 are available during extended opening hours. Collaborative classrooms are available.
The Research Help, IT Student Help and Inquiry desks are not staffed.
The security guard regularly patrols the floor and monitors cameras from the security guard station in the foyer.
Security arrangements
A security guard will be available in the library during extended opening hours. The security desk is located in the library foyer.
The University security bus service operates until 1 am. This bus will deliver you to your car, public transport point or college within La Trobe University grounds. Once the security bus service stops for the evening the library security guard can ring Security to organise an escort for individuals who are leaving the building after this time.
