What are my login details

La Trobe University students

Your login details are your username and password that appeared on your first statement of account. Use these to log in to My Library, your University email account, StudentOnline, OASIS, LMS and university computers. You can then reset your password.

La Trobe University staff

Your login details are your active directory username and password. Use these to log in to My Library, your email account and your work computer.

Other borrowers

Your login details are your family name, student/staff/library ID and a library PIN. You can use these to access My Library and online resources if you are a:

  • Wodonga TAFE or MDFRC client
  • community member (e.g. alumni, CAVAL, corporate, ULA)
  • La Trobe Melbourne staff or student.

How do I create a library PIN

You must have your student/staff card or your library card.

  1. Go to My Library.
    Patron login - other
  2. Tick the Other Borrower box.
  3. Enter your family name.
  4. Enter your ID number.
    • Wodonga TAFE: use t followed by your student/staff number.
    • MDFRC: use m followed by the last six digits of the barcode on your library card
    • All others: use the ID number from your card leaving out all letters and spaces.
  5. Click on Submit (do not enter your PIN at this stage).
  6. Now enter your PIN.
  7. Re-enter your PIN.
  8. Click on Submit.

Forgotten your PIN?

If you forget your library PIN or have any problems, you can telephone or ask at the Inquiry/Loans Desk to have your PIN removed. You can then create a new PIN.

What is My Library?

You can see your library record by logging into My Library.

My Library allows you to:

  • view and renew any items you have currently borrowed
  • check on the status of any hold requests
  • cancel hold requests if you no longer require the item
  • view a list of your overdue items that have fines.

Borrowing history

This option allows you to list all the items you have previously borrowed. Select the Start Borrowing History button. You will now be able to list all the items you borrow from this time. You can delete items or stop the history at any time.

You may initiate or terminate use of this service, as well as delete any or all of the entries in your own Borrowing History, at any time. Saved search queries and alerts

This option is available to staff, postgraduate and honours students. You can save a search that you have performed in the Catalogue and then be alerted by email whenever a new item, matching the search criteria, is added to the collection.

  • Login to My Library, perform a search and then select the Save Search Query button.
  • Return to My Library and select the Saved Searches button.
  • A list of the different searches you have saved will display.
  • You can Mark for Email so that you are notified or repeat the search by selecting Search.
  • You can also remove any searches you no longer require.
