Default presenter name

Enter the presenter’s name (this defaults to the currently logged in user) however, it is best practice to use a real name rather than a default username for security purposes.

Storage location

All recording files are stored in the following locations:

  • Windows: C:\Documents & Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Echo360\Personal Capture\Recordings
  • Mac: /Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Echo360 Personal Capture/recordings/

If you prefer to store your recording files in a different location; it is important to select a location with plenty of free space. If you intend to store files on an external hard drive ensure that the hard drive is connected prior to opening the Echo360 Personal Capture software. Also, ensure the external hard drive is not disconnected while the software is in use.

Server settings

You will need to connect to La Trobe's Lectopia server to publish recordings to Lectopia. The server settings should be set by the ICT Service Desk when the software is installed, however it is a good idea to check these settings before you start;

  • To connect to the server on Windows: on the File/Application menu, click Tools > Options.
  • If you are using a Mac OS X you will need to select Preferences.

Then select the 'Server' tab.

  • Check that the Hostname / IP Address field reads 'lectopia.latrobe.edu.au'.

Next,

  • Select HTTPS as the protocol.
  • Make sure you are connected to the internet and then click 'Test Connection…' to confirm that server settings are correct.

The connection test will always fail if an internet connection is not established.

  • Click OK when complete.
