Editing recordings

Select a recording for editing in one of two ways:

  1. Immediately after stopping a recording, you will be taken to the View/Edit screen to view and/or edit the result
    Or,
  2. In the My Recordings view, select the recording you intend to view or edit and click View/Edit;

Reviewing your recording and edits

Use the playback control buttons to view and/or listen to the edited recording.

Trim ("top 'n tail")

Use this editing function to discard unwanted leading and trailing recording time.

  • Drag the left-end slider in to trim the front of the recording
  • Drag the right-end slider in to trim the end of the recording

Cut a segment

To cut out a segment of the recording use the playhead and marker buttons to isolate the segment.

  • First, position the playhead where you want the cut to start (e.g. 00:00:15)

  • Click the mark-in button. This will place the mark-in point at the current playhead position
  • Then, position the playhead where you want the cut to end
  • Click the mark-out button. This will place the mark-out point at the current playhead position

  • When you are happy with the position of your mark-in and mark-out points for the cut, click the Cut button

  • The cut area(s) will appear grey on the timeline (see 'Clearing cuts' image).

Clearing cuts (Undoing edits)

To undo individual cuts, simply double-click on the grey area to restore the segment.

When you have made multiple cuts throughout the timeline you can choose to clear all cuts made to the timeline to restore all segments cut out of the timeline.

To do this, click the Clear Cuts button at the bottom of the application window. A popup will ask you to confirm your selection, click yes to confirm.

Applying Edits

If no further editing is required, click the Apply Edits button. The trim(s) will be applied and you will be returned to the My Recordings view.

When clicking on Apply Edits, a popup will appear asking you to confirm applying edits to the recording. Click OK.

Note: CHANGES MADE TO THE TIMELINE CANNOT BE RESTORED ONCE THE EDITS ARE APPLIED.

By clicking the Apply Edits button, you will be returned to the My Recordings screen. The recording will show a progress bar as the edits are applied. Once edits are complete, the status will change to 'Edited'. All edits are automatically applied when you choose to publish your recording.

Saving changes

All changes made to recordings are automatically saved upon exit. If you are ready to upload and publish your edited file, click Publish Recording. If you want to discard your changes, click Cancel.
