Resource units
For each LMS unit a Lectopia resource unit will also be created. This is seperate from the unit containing the recording schedule and does not need to be requested via the LMS admin tool.
This Lectopia unit is used to house any recordings made with the Echo360 Personal Desktop Capture Tool and any additional video materials which may be of benefit to students. The resource unit will appear in your Unit List together with your regular lecture recording units and will contain the word 'Resources' after the subject and campus codes.

The unit details for page for resource units look the same as those for units with a regular recording schedule, however, the first time that you access a resource unit there will be no slots for scheduled recordings. Recordings are created and made available at the time you upload video materials to the unit. Upload video materials using the staff self-service upload tool, which is started by clicking 'Upload New Recording' icon directly under the recording list.

Once you have clicked on ‘upload a new recording’, a new window will open that will allow you to enter details of the recording you intend to upload;

After entering the recording details and clicking next, you will be asked to specify the recording type and output formats. Information on the available formats can be found on the Compression settings page.

Finally, you will be asked to browse to the file that you wish to upload. NOTE: it is at this stage that you may be asked to confirm that you want to run the upload application. Always click ‘run’ to confirm and move to the file upload screen.

Browse to the file that you wish to upload, select it and then click ‘upload’ to complete the process. The file may take several minutes to upload depending on its size - you will be shown a progress bar indicating the status of the upload.
Once uploaded, the video will appear in your recordings list.

Other video materials can be uploaded as required. It is also possible to overwrite existing recordings with new versions by clicking on the date of the recording in the recording list before clicking the 'Upload New Recording' icon.
NOTE: If you begin the upload process by clicking the 'Upload New Recording' and enter a date for the recording, then quit the upload process before completing it, an empty scheduled recording slot with the date you entered will be created.
