Undergraduate applications

Unless otherwise stated, all applicants must apply to the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). From 2009, the Faculty will be offering only Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP).

Pathways for TAFE students

Students who have successfully completed part or all of a Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Business may apply for entry to business-related courses with advanced standing, and upon admission may be exempted from up to eight subjects.

Internal transfers for existing La Trobe students

Applications for internal transfer are available to existing La Trobe students at the end of each year, and mid-year (subject to quota). Applications should be made directly to the Faculty of Law and Management.

Mid-year entry

Mid-year entries must be made directly to the Faculty at the relevant campus. Information about mid-year entry is published on this website each year.

Special requirements for Albury-Wodonga

Applications for Albury-Wodonga courses may be made either to VTAC or the University Admissions Centre  (UAC). Part-time applicants for Albury-Wodonga courses only must apply directly to the Faculty at the Albury-Wodonga campus by the last working day of October and should include a CV and supporting materials with this application.

Special requirements law courses

Please refer to: Law eligibility and selection criteria [PDF 248KB]. Applications for internal transfer are normally submitted on or before Monday December 14 2009.

Special Entry Schemes

As part of La Trobe University's commitment to provide an opportunity for excellence to all students, we provide several Special Entry Schemes. Please refer to the current VTAC Guide for an explanation of these different schemes and how to apply, or visit the La Trobe Future Students website. You must also contact the Faculty of Law and Management for supplementary application forms and information.

Students applying for any of our double degrees with science that have mathematics prerequisites, and who are eligible to enter under the 'Age and educational background (Non-year 12)' category of the Special Entry Scheme, may be required to sit a one-hour mathematics test conducted by the University in October (timely applicants) or in November (late applicants). Please contact the Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering for more information.

Postgraduate applications

  • Prospective postgraduate coursework applicants should consult the La Trobe Postgraduate web page for current application procedures.
  • Prospective postgraduate research applicants should view the Faculty's research page for current application procedures.

International applications

Prospective overseas international students should refer to the La Trobe International site for information about application procedures, fees and eligibility requirements.
