Law Mentoring Program
Mentoring
The School runs a Mentoring Program where law students can be assigned to a Magistrate or Judge (in the Magistrates Court or Family Court) as part of the subjects ('units') - Family Society and Law or Criminal Procedure and Evidence. The Mentoring Program requires that students conduct research into a legal issue relating to a specific mentors work. Depending on where the placement occurs, mentoring leads to credit for part of the assessment in either Family Society and Law or Criminal Procedure and Evidence; and provides students with valuable practical legal experience and networking opportunities which will enhance future applications for Seasonal Clerkships and/or Articles/Traineeships. Applications for Mentoring in 2008 [PDF 52KB] must be submitted to the General Office by Friday 29 February at 4pm.
