Competition law and policy
![]()
Competition as a governing ideal is fostered in many jurisdictions. This topic considers its expansion into areas erstwhile governed by State fiat and its protection and regulation through the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth.), especially in terms of cartel conduct, boycotts, use of market power, access and takeovers and mergers. Studies of competition policy and law in a number of jurisdictions, especially developing countries, have been undertaken. Special attention is paid to privatisation and the regulation of utilities.
