Brief profile

My research is in the area of human resource management (HRM) and employment relations (ER). My recent publications/acceptance for publication includes journal articles in Journal of Management Studies, The British Journal of Industrial Relations, Advanced Journal of Nursing, The International Journal of Human Resource Management, Relations Industrielles and Human Resource Management Journal. I have a record of commissioned research on HRM  and employment relations with leading healthcare organisations and government departments. I am currently the Co-editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Human Resources - Australia’s leading management Journal. I am also currently Associate Editor for Management Research News. I am also co-author of Human Resource Management: Strategy, People, Performance 4th Edition. I currently hold two ARC grants (a Linkage grant   to study the impact of lean management practices and its effects on employee well-being in Australian and Canadian health services and a Discovery grant to study the HR and ER practices of foreign owned MNEs operating in Australia). I am also leading a number of projects on the Men's Shed movement in Australia (e.g., examining indigenous men's participation in Men's Sheds and related health, wellbeing and employment outcomes).
