Brief Profile
Jessica has been with the School since 2005 after completing her Honours Degree in Tourism Management at La Trobe University, Australia, achieving the Deans Medal for Most Outstanding Graduating Student in her course. Previously, she completed her Advanced Diploma in Tourism Management at William Angliss Institute of Tafe, where she was awarded the Most Outstanding Marketing Student. In 2010 Jessica completed her Master of Business in the area of Crisis Management at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Jessica has taught across fifteen units which are offered in the Event Management, Tourism Management and Tourism and Hospitality degrees. The areas which she has experience in include International Tourism, Destination Marketing, Event Management, Event Planning, Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Management, Strategic Management and Accommodation Operations.
In addition to her academic qualifications and teaching experience Jessica has worked quite extensively across different sectors of both the tourism and hospitality industries. These roles include conducting research and facilitating interviews for the City of Melbourne Tourism Plan (2006-2010). In addition, her employment at the Alpine Resorts Co-ordinating Council which included implementing and evaluating the " Keep Winter Cool" Environmental program.
In 2011 Jessica was elected onto the board of the Young Tourism Network as the Student Liaison Coordinator. The Young Tourism Network was established in October 2005 as a Victorian based social networking group and was formally launched to the industry at in May 2006. The network, through both social and professional development events and industry alliances, aims to enhance and foster the career development and professional excellence of the people within the Victorian tourism industry. In April 2012 Jessica was endorsed onto the Bayside Tourism Network, by the Bayside City Council. The network is a 12 person volunteer advisory group of local tourism industry experts who meet every two months to advise Council on how to further support and develop the local industry.
