Mission and vision
LaRRC aims to raise public awareness and contribute to national and global debate about:
- the causes and consequences of forced displacement
- the issues faced by individuals and communities during forced displacement, flight, and refuge
- the need for better access and equity to health and social services for refugee communities.
LaRRC aims to investigate:
- the social factors that contribute to the health and wellbeing of refugees
- the optimal social contexts for refugee settlement
- the socio-political factors that hinder or promote social inclusion, integration and civic participation in refugee communities.
LaRRC aims to provide:
- knowledge, skills and resources to help organisations improve their refugee service delivery and formulation of public policy
- mentoring and support to University staff and post-graduate students undertaking research into flight, displacement and refuge
- teaching in the undergraduate curriculum across University faculties
- active inclusion in the work of LaRRC for refugees.
