Employer superannuation
Staff can benefit from the UniSuper fund at La Trobe University. UniSuper is the industry superfund dedicated to all those who work in Higher Education in Australia and the research sector. Two styles of super are offered through the Defined Benefit Division and Accumulation Super. For more information, please see the UniSuper website.
Staff development
We are committed to professional and career development of all staff. Existing staff development activities and opportunities are being expanded to include areas such as leadership development, personal effectiveness and team development.
La Trobe has an in-house training facility that can offer courses in IT training, professional development and more. See Organisational Development for more information.
Performance review and improvement
Our staff are reviewed annually to ensure they are following a professional and career development plan, and are managing their work tasks effectively.
Employee assistance program
The employee assistance program ensures that staff have access to assistance to aid with workplace or personal issues. This is available to all La Trobe employees, and their immediate family.
Health fund
The La Trobe University Group Health Care Plan is an arrangement between La Trobe University, Hospitals Contribution Fund of Australia (HCF) and the La Trobe University Credit Union. This arrangement enables employees enrolled in the plan to obtain substantial cost savings as compared to similar funds

We offer a range of salary packaging options for full-time and part-time employees. Some examples are leases to vehicle leasing, voluntary contributions into superannuation, in house child care, and car parking.
