Voicemail

Overview

Voicemail is a computerised voice messaging system which can improve client service and enhance your productivity. It offers greater flexibility and more features than an answering machine.

To set up Voicemail

Dial Voicemail on extension 5696. You will be asked to enter a security code. In the first instance this is '0000'.

From then on, follow the prompts which will include entering your name, new personal security code (from 4 to 15 digits) and a personal greeting.

Once you have set up your Voicemail advise the Bundoora switchboard on 99 to activate the 6 ring diversion. This enables you to receive messages if you do not answer the phone after six rings or if you are busy on a call.

To use Voicemail

  • Your calls will automatically be diverted to Voicemail if the phone rings more than 6 times without being answered.
  • To divert all of your calls directly to Voicemail, simply lift the handset of your phone and dial  *21*5696#
  • To cancel the direct diversion dial  #21#
  • To access your messages when on campus, dial 5696. Enter your unique security code as prompted.
  • To access your messages when off campus, dial (03) 9479 5696. Enter your mail box number (your extension number) and your unique security code as prompted.
  • For further information and features refer to the Quick Reference Guide.
