Italian Studies ProgramUndergraduate StudiesItalian can be studied as individual units, or as a major area of within a Bachelor of Arts degree or to complement numerous other degrees across Faculties. A Diploma in Languages is another way of combining Italian with your other studies at La Trobe. Students enrolled in any of La Trobe’s degrees are able to undertake this program concurrently, ultimately qualifying with two distinct qualifications. The Program offers two different language streams: at first-year level this comprises Italian for beginners and post-VCE Italian. Italian Studies combines Italian language study and language skills with the study of Italy and its literature, history and civilisation. The major part of teaching is done in the Italian language. Both literary and cultural studies are covered. Bachelor of Arts (Italian Studies major)Diploma in LanguagesFirst Year
