Italian Studies Program

Honours Program

Suitably qualified students may undertake further studies in Italian language and culture at Honours (fourth-year) level. Honours consists of both coursework and a minor thesis.

Course Structure

The Honours course consists of:

Three half subjects of Italian (worth 50%), and a research dissertation, in Italian, of 12,000 -15,000-words (50%).

Enrolment may be full-time (2 semesters) or part-time (up to 4 semesters). Honours students are encouraged to enhance their language skills by studying at one of the Italian universities with which La Trobe has an exchange agreement. All Honours' students have the opportunity to present their research at seminars attended by other students and members of the teaching staff.
