Acknowledgements
The iStutter site was created in 2005 as part of a year-long project to design an information package for adolescents who stutter. This site was created by fourth year students (Jen Bourke, Simone Fraser, Suzi Josevski, Lisa Sedgley, Brooke Streatfeild and Mitzi Tuke) of the Bachelor of Speech Pathology in the School of Human Communication Sciences at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia.
Thanks to Our Greatest Support People
- Dr Susan Block and Mrs Fiona Ross for their supervision of the project, their invaluable support, guidance and knowledge and their going 'beyond the call' many times to keep the project on track.
- Anthony O'Connell for his voluntary construction of the website, collaborative approach to design, attention to detail, and determination to get the site launched despite set-backs.
Thanks to All Our Volunteers
To construct this site, we relied heavily on voluntary support from members of our family, friends and other contacts. We thank the following people who gave their time so generously.
Technical Support
- David Tuke for his initial liaison, advice and work on the website
- Nick Daskalou for the trickier computer coding of the tables and menu
Promotional Bookmark, Logo and Graphics
- Jane- Frances Gooden for creating the original iStutter logo and the design of the promotional bookmark
- Mick Hollingsworth of ABC Photosigns, Melbourne, for his generous donation of bookmarks. Also, for printing additional bookmarks (funds were obtained from the clinic through a donation from the Myer Foundation to our Adolescent Stuttering program, for adolescent treatment).
- Zac Josevski (age 17) and Emily Tuke (age 12) for the site's hand-drawn graphics
- Gordon Barfield for suggesting the iStutter name
Teenage Input
- The teenaged participants of the La Trobe Communication Clinic's 2005 intensive Smooth Speech program for telling us (via questionnaires) what information they would like on the website, and what they liked about their favourite websites - their input helped to shape the content and design of this site
- Our many teenaged family and friends for responding to our requests for input before and during the site's construction, which helped to decide the site's name, content, design and usability
Thanks to La Trobe University and Associated Insitutions:
- Christine Wade, Julie-anna Batson and colleagues for IT liaison
- Australian Stuttering Research Centre for agreeing to link to our site
- Dr Ann Packman, Dr Michelle Lincoln and Dr Mark Onslow for their academic feedback on the site's content
- The Myer Foundation for providing financial support of both the project's promotion and academic supervision

Finally for ongoing support and encouragement of my studies, I thank my family and friends.
