Airport Reception

Regardless of the time of day or night you arrive, La Trobe International can arrange for you to be met at Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), Albury Airport or at the Albury Railway Station. You will be taken to your accommodation by a representative of La Trobe University's airport reception agent.

Please note that you cannot book Airport Reception until you have confirmed accommodation! Please click here for information on Temporary Accommodation.

To make use of this free service, complete the relevant Airport Reception Form as soon as possible. Please note that if you change your flight details without notifying LTI, or fail to use the airport reception service without notifying us that you no longer need it, you will be charged the costs incurred (AUD$45.00). In order to complete the form you will need the following details.

1. Student Number
2. Faculty
3. Arrival Date
4. Arrival Time
5. Airline
6. Flight Numbers
7. Address you will be dropped at.
   Note: if this is a private address we also require a Melbourne phone number

Make sure that you have these details at hand before proceeding.

Melbourne (Bundoora or City) campus students:
Friends and family members can accompany you for an additional $30 per extra person, paid in cash to the driver. You must advise LTI staff at the time of booking if friends and family members will be accompanying you. Please be aware that all new students need to book airport reception on their own behalf.

If the distance from the Tullamarine airport to your drop-off destination is further than 45km, you may have to pay a surcharge. You will be advised of this additional amount at the time of booking.

If you don't wish to use the Airport Reception service, you can also reach La Trobe University from the airport by taxi (approximately AUD$55.00 fare, half hour trip) or by taking a shuttle service such as the SkyBus from the airport to the city (20 minute trip, cost $15 per person) or Eastside Buslines Airport Bus to Heidelberg or Preston ($19 per person) and public or other transport to the University from there (Eastside's Airport Bus can do door-to-door if you pre-book).
