Language & Cultural Exchange (LACE)
Are you interested in enriching your life by learning more about the music, food, film, literature, festivals and traditions of another culture? Do you need to practice your English or another language? Would you like to do this in a relaxed environment and make a new friend at the same time?
The aim of the LACE program is to bring all La Trobe University students in Melbourne together to exchange language skills and share one another’s cultures. Whether you are a domestic student with an interest in a foreign culture or an international student wishing to learn more about Australia or another international culture, the LACE program provides the opportunity for participating students to expand their horizons and international networks.
We put you in contact with other students interested in learning more about your language and country. Together you decide where, when and how your language and cultural exchange will take place.
La Trobe will coordinate a couple of social events each semester to help initiate contact between partners and to facilitate new partnerships with those not yet matched (PDF 132KB).
For further information including the Code of conduct, lesson ideas and LACE FAQs download the LACE program guide (PDF 1.25MB).
Register now and you can join all the members at the next LACE lunch on Thursday 11 October 2012, 12-1.30pm.
Melbourne campus students can register online.
