Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Scholarships for Canadian Students, 2010

Four scholarships, each valued at A$5000, are available to outstanding international students from Canada who wish to pursue the Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) in 2010. 

Subject to applicants of suitable academic merit, the School of Law will award scholarships (in the form of a tuition reduction) as follows:

  • 2 x $5000 scholarship in Semester 1, 2010
  • 2 x $5000 scholarship in Semester 2, 2010

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must:

  • Hold Canadian citizenship or be a Canadian Permanent Resident;
  • Have completed their undergraduate studies at a Canadian University;
  • Successfully meet the requirements for entry into the Bachelor of Laws and meet minimum standards of language proficiency;
  • Attach a written personal statement (maximum 500 words) to their application addressing their academic merit, what they hope to get out of their study experience at La Trobe, and interest and commitment to promoting La Trobe Law to prospective international students.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the written personal statement. Recipients should be willing to participate in promotional activities for the Faculty of Law and Management and the School of Law from time to time.

How to Apply

Students who wish to apply for this scholarship must submit a complete international application for entry into the Bachelor of Laws, accompanied by the written personal statement, to La Trobe International by the following deadlines:

  • 15 December 2009 for entry in Semester 1, 2010
  • 15 April 2010 for entry in Semester 2, 2010

La Trobe Civil Engineering Scholarship - Bendigo Campus

The purpose of this scholarship is to attract students to study a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering) at La Trobes regional campus in Bendigo and to also offer the opportunity to students to work in a region which currently faces a skill shortage for civil engineers.

This scholarship will comprise of $20,000 over 4 years (or $5,000 per year) and will be offered to all students who meet the entry requirements and choose to study the Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the Bendigo campus starting in Semester 1 (March) 2010

Students applying for this scholarship are required to have 70% in Year 12 and IELTS score of 6.0.

Australian Development Scholarships (ADS)

La Trobe University is pleased to advise that it will be accepting recipients of the Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) from Semester 1 2007.

The Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) offers Australian Development Scholarships (ADS) to provide opportunities for individuals from selected developing countries to undertake post-secondary level study in Australia. The objective of the scholarship program is to provide AusAID sponsored students with valuable knowledge, skills and qualifications which will enable them to make a positive contribution to the development of their country.
