Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering Semester 2, 2009 Scholarships

The Faculty of Science, Technology and Engineering (FSTE) are offering $90,000 worth of scholarships for international students commencing their courses in July/Sept 2009 intake.

Courses covered in this scholarship include
  • Biotechnology
  • IT/Computer Science
  • Engineering
  • Agriculture & environmental sciences
  • Psychology
  • Pharmacy
  • Nanotechnology

The value of the scholarships will be as follows

  • $3,000 x 2
  • $4,000 x 11
  • $5,000 x 2
  • $6,000 x 5

To apply for the above scholarships please follow the below instructions:

  1. Students with offers must apply using the application form (PDF 82KB) with a copy of their offer letter. New applicants will need to attach this application form (PDF 82KB) with their complete application with all academic documents.
  2. Send your application to intapplication@latrobe.edu.au with 'FSTE Scholarships' in the subject line.

Please note:

  1. These scholarships are only for students commencing their course in July/Sept 2009.
  2. The applications deadline for students is 15 May 2009 and FSTE will announce the 1st round recipients by 20 May 2009.
  3. The acceptance deadline for students would be 1 June 2009, after which the scholarships will be offered to the next best students on the list.
  4. Selection Criteria – As a guide, students would be required to have a minimum of 75% in their final qualification or equivalent in other scoring systems and meet the university’s English requirements.

Graduate School of Management (GSM) Scholarships for Thailand

La Trobe is pleased to announce a number of GSM scholarships. These scholarships will provide 10% scholarships to a number of students, based on academic merit.

Eligibility:
New applicants for Master of International Business (MIB) and Master Marketing Management (MMM) for July 2009 intake. Note that enrolled students are not eligible for these scholarships.

Selection criteria:
In addition to meeting the standard academic and English language requirements of the course, applicants will be selected on the basis of academic excellence through the academic results submitted with the application.

Value:
Twenty scholarships are available which will offer 10 % of the tuition fees worth AUD$2,289 for the total duration of the Master of International Business and Master Marketing Management degree.
Continuation is subject to satisfactory academic progress and maintaining status as an overseas student.

How to apply:
Applications are open now and close on July 17 for the Semester 2 2009 intake.

Applicants must complete the PG application form, and attach the relevant documentations.;

One-Year Business Masters Scholarships (European Students)

La Trobe University's Graduate School of Management is pleased to announce new scholarships available for students from France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria seeking entry into one of the following master programs:

  • Master of International Business
  • Master of Marketing Management
  • Master of Business Administration

Eligibility:
Commencing postgraduate coursework students from France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria into business masters program in:

  • Semester 2, 2009 (for Master of International Business and Master of Marketing Management) Term 3 or 4, 2009 (for Master of Business Administration) OR
  • Semester 1, 2010 (for Master of International Business and Master of Marketing Management) Term 1 or 2, 2010 (for Master of Business Administration)

Please Note: Current students are not eligible for these scholarships.

Selection criteria:

  • Successfully meet the requirements for entry into Master of International Business, Master of Marketing Management or Master of Business Administration (including minimum standards of English language proficiency);
  • Written personal statement (maximum 500 words) addressing your academic merit, what you hope to get out of your study experience at La Trobe, and interest and commitment to promoting the Graduate School of Management to prospective international students.

Value:
$5000AUD tuition waiver scholarship.

Endeavour Awards Program

The Endeavour Awards Program is an Australian Government initiative, bringing together under the one umbrella all of the Department of Education, Science and Trainings (DEST) international scholarships. Over the next five; years from 2007 to 2011, up to 10,000 scholarships will be offered as part of the Endeavour Programme. The Programme aims to bring high achieving students, researchers and professionals from the Asia-Pacific region and other regions to; Australia to undertake short or long term study, research and professional development in a broad range of disciplines. It also encourages Australians to do the same abroad.

There are a number of Endeavour Awards which are applicable to international students who wish to pursue postgraduate coursework or research programs in Australia. These are:
