Am I eligible?
Student exchange is available to students, domestic and international who are enrolled full-time in a La Trobe University degree program.Undergraduate students must have completed the first year of their degree at La Trobe University at the time of departure.
Postgraduate students who have been enrolled for one year.
Achieved a minimum of 65 % average across all units by the time of application.
Achieved approval from your course coordinator and Faculty for proposed units at the Host University.
International students are not eligable to apply for exchange in their Home Country.
Will it take longer to finish my studies?
No. Most students are able to receive full credit for their semester or year of exchange.
Can I study part time on exchange?
No. You can apply if you are a part time student at La Trobe, but you must be enrolled full time for the period of exchange.
How do I get academic credit for my studies on exchange?
It is your responsibility to submit an approved study plan with your application. This will ensure you receive credit towards your La Trobe degree for the subjects you study overseas.
How much does it cost?
You pay your normal fees (HECS HELP, FEE HELP or full fees) to La Trobe University for the duration of your exchange and receive a fee waiver from the host university.
You are responsible for you own travel and living expenses.
If you receive Youth Allowance or government scholarships you can usually continue to receive these while you are overseas.
You are required to show you have sufficient financial resources for the duration of your exchange.

Can I apply for a scholarship?
Students selected for semester exchange are eligible to receive an LTU mobility grant. In some cases, there may be other scholarships
available too.
