Our Mission Statement

The mission of La Trobe University is to be an internationally recognised leader in the scholarly discovery, preservation, transmission and application of knowledge.

The mission of the La Trobe International (LTI) is to plan, carry out and continually review the marketing, selection and admissions activities for international students and to promote internationalisation and student mobility within the University.

We do this within an environment of quality compliance and collaboration involving:

  • Government Regulation via the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act;
  • La Trobe University stake-holders;
  • Universities Australia (UA)

La Trobe International is committed to:

  • Monitor and verify full La Trobe compliance with all Australian Government legal, reporting and ethical requirements
  • Responsibly and accurately represent La Trobe's course offerings to prospective students and their families
  • Ensure full compliance with La Trobe admission selection requirements such that students who are offered a place have the academic and language ability to enable them to succeed
  • Monitor student perceptions of the La Trobe experience and provide feedback to Faculty and service providers as needed, and revise and ensure the accuracy of promotional activities and materials as needed
  • Set and monitor Key Performance Activities as an on-going management tool to confirm the achievement of all planned standards of accuracy and service.
