Bendigo Campus

La Trobe University Bendigo, is the University's second largest campus, situated on 33 hectares of beautiful bushland, three kilometers and just 10-15 minutes cycling from the Bendigo city centre. The campus has a history of providing higher education to central and northern Victoria that goes as far back as 1873. The 3900 students, 490 staff and 180 international students at Bendigo have access to a full range of services and facilities.

The campus provides the perfect balance: academic challenges; courses that open career doors; the opportunity to learn from outstanding staff; and the chance to study in a welcoming environment. Small class sizes and easy access to lecturers create a supportive and friendly study environment. The size of the campus makes it is easy to find your way around, get to know people and feel part of the university community.

Facilities

The University invites you to make the most of our extensive range of facilities and services. In 2004, the campus opened new, state-of-the-art Science Laboratories. The Heyward Library provides access to a wide range of information resources in a variety of formats, with an extensive inter-campus loan system and a complete array of study facilities.

The magnificent Ironbark Centre, a custom designed Outdoor Education facility, was built with environmental sensitivity and reflects the beauty of the surrounding bush.

With its ecosystems of Australian native flora and fauna, the adjoining state forest provides a natural teaching setting for students of Outdoor Education and Nature Tourism. It is not rare to see kangaroos hopping through the campus grounds at dusk or early morning!

The University's Phyllis Palmer Gallery provides an exhibition space for Visual Art students as well as hosting touring exhibitions. Recreational facilities include a fully equipped gymnasium, soccer fields, tennis, basketball and badminton courts, and an olympic-size swimming pool close by.

Students also have access to world-class athletic facilities that were used for the Commonwealth Youth Games, held in Bendigo in 2004.
