Trivia night at the Eagle Bar
Each year Golden Key chapters around the country work simultaneously throughout Literacy Week to raise awareness and much needed funds for indigenous literacy.
This year’s event at the Eagle Bar was organised in conjunction with La Trobe’s Young Alumni Group (YAG). On 2 September over 100 students, staff, alumni and friends gathered at the Eagle Bar, coming to battle for intellectual glory and Golden Key’s annual fundraising event.
The group aimed at raising A$1000 for the Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation, having fallen just shy off the mark last year.
After six intense rounds of competition, team ‘Default’ took the honours ahead of the other twelve tables rising to ultimate trivia royalty, while Emily from ‘Default’ took the crown of trivia champion with a victory in the grand final ‘who am I?’ stage.
The festivities were capped off with the news that thanks to everyone’s contributions, the target of $1000 had been exceeded.
