Agribio, the Centre for AgriBioscience

The Biosciences Research Centre Project is a joint initiative of the Victorian Government, through the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), and La Trobe University. AgriBio will protect Victoria’s A$11.8 billion agricultural sector by focussing on cutting-edge research to improve productivity, fight disease and reduce environmental impact.

La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science

La Trobe University has received $85.8 million funding from the Federal Government to establish the $97 million La Trobe Institute for Molecular Sciences (LIMS) in northern Melbourne. LIMS is the University's largest investment to date in research and academic infrastructure.

La Trobe Rural Health School

A major construction program has commenced on the University’s Bendigo Campus, the Bendigo Health Campus and across northern Victoria to facilitate the growth of the La Trobe Rural Health School.

The Clinical Teaching Building

Parent project: La Trobe Rural Health School.

The Clinical Teaching Building is to be co-located with the Monash University School of Rural Health and the Primary Health Care Clinic on the site of the Bendigo Health campus.

The Health Sciences Building

Parent project: La Trobe Rural Health School.

The Health Sciences Building is to be located on the La Trobe University’s Bendigo Campus, with a frontage to Sharon Street. The new building will be physically linked to the existing Health Sciences building on the Flora Hill campus.

Dental and Oral Health Expansion

Parent project: La Trobe Rural Health School.

The project involves the expansion and refurbishment the School of Dentistry and Oral Health to level 5 of the East Wing building of the Anne Caudle campus of Bendigo Health. An additional 10 dental chairs will be created.

Student Residential Accommodation

Parent project: La Trobe Rural Health School.

The Bendigo Student Residential Accommodation will have a total of 200 student residential beds, of which 60 beds have been allocated to students at the La Trobe Rural Health School. The new residential accommodation buildings will replace the Osborne Street student accommodation. The new buildings will be located on an existing car park and tennis courts, with replacement car parking being built on the bottom oval. The Regional Student Residential Accommodation will have a total of 86 student beds located in Melton, Mildura, Swan Hill, Echuca, Shepparton and Wodonga.

La Trobe Melbourne Building

New facilities to be constructed on-campus in the vicinity of the current Education buildings to the east of Peribolos.
