Arundhati Roy Addressing a Function at La Trobe University

La Trobe's connections with India are illustrated through historical photos and the book covers of the work of La Trobe's India-focused scholars.

From Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's visit in 1968 to Arundhati Roy's lecture in 1999, La Trobe has sought to engage with public figures and scholars from India.

Book covers by authors who are academics at La Trobe colourfully illustrate the breadth and depth of La Trobe scholars' research about India - stretching from the ancient to the contemporary.

La Trobe encourages two-way exchange. La Trobe scholars visit India regularly for seminars and workshops, and La Trobe has an annual undergraduate exchange program with Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.
