Professor Paoletti is a specialist in agroecology with particular emphasis on invertebrates as biomonitoring tools, biodiversity assessment and their role in a sustainable future.

Professor Paoletti has experience in diverse countries including Italy , the United States , China , Ecuador , Brazil and Venezuela working on bioindicators of soil use and good agricultural management, assessing sustainability using bioindicators, the relationship between domestication and biodiversity and the role of minilivestock in the tropics both in biodiversity and as potential resources.
