Mark Lester is Professor of Solar Terrestrial Physics at the University of Leicester . His main interests are the space environment which surrounds the Earth, the magnetosphere, how energy is coupled from the sun through different parts of the magnetosphere, and the impact that this energy has on man's activities in space. He is the chairman of the Super Dual Auroral Radar Network and PI for two of the radars that form this network of HF radars which surround the poles in both northern and southern hemispheres.
