IAS Distinguished Fellow ProfileProfessor Bhadriraju KrishnamurtiIAS Distinguished Fellow 2001 . Professor Krishnamurti established the Department of Linguisitics at Osmania University which was upgraded (by the time he retired) to the Advanced Centre of Linguistics. Professor Krishnamurti was involved in fieldwork on several tribal languages and published a grammar of a tribal language called Kubi. He also pioneered work on Telugu grammar, dialectology, lexicography, literacy and comparative Dravidian. As a Distinguished Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study, Professor Krishnamurti's main objective was to complete a book on the Dravidian languages.
