Professor Willi Dörfler

Professor Dörfler's fields of research are Graph Theory, Automata Theory and Mathematics for Computer Science. He was Rector of the University of Klagenfurt for six years. His publications comprise six books and many Mathematical and Computer Science Education Papers.

While at La Trobe's Institute for Advanced Study Professor Dörfler worked on two main topics, the relationships between mathematics and mathematics education and semiotics of mathematics using the notion of sign as developed by Ch. S. Peirce.
