The Institute for Human Security is a university-wide institute, which endeavours to further interdisciplinary research on all aspects related to human security as defined by the United Nations and encourages an ongoing dialogue between academia, development agencies and policy makers.

The next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) is to be held in Perth in October 2011. The institute wishes to draw attention to this opportunity for effecting change amongst this group of countries.
