Meet our student
Ms Jessica Santiago
Course of study:
Bachelor of Legal Studies 2012
Prior to commencing the Bachelor of Legal Studies, I studied a Bachelor of Arts for one year majoring in Modern History. I chose a Bachelor of Legal Studies at La Trobe as it gave me an opportunity to study a wide range of subjects pertaining to our legal system.
The opportunities that are available to undergraduate students at La Trobe once they have graduated are endless. You also have the opportunity in your third year to complete a Work Placement unit in an area of interest to your studies. This offers students an opportunity to apply their analytical skills and knowledge within a practical situation.
I had the fabulous opportunity to complete my placement with The Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. This gave me a huge opportunity to combine my interest in Criminal Law with learning the functions of our Courts. I was able to attend court with a team of prosecutors and sit in on a real trial.
