The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Schools Liaison officers regularly travel to secondary schools to present seminars and information sessions on the degrees offered by our faculty. Contact us for a copy of our most recent Undergraduate Prospectus or to arrange a school visit. We are happy to design our presentations around the specific needs of your class or year level.

 

 

 

On recent school visits we have conducted presentations relating to:

  • The Bachelor of Arts degree (majors, career outcomes)
  • History and Language study at University
  • The Bachelor of Media Studies
  • Sociology, Anthropology and the Bachelor of Social Sciences
  • International Relations and Development Studies (career outcomes)

Recent on campus presentations to year 11 and year 12 students have included:

  • "What is an Arts Degree?"
  • Studying Media, Journalism and Creative Arts
  • Reading writing; Studying English at University

 

Study Skills Seminar in May

The Academic Skills Unit at La Trobe will be presenting a free Study Skills Seminar to Year 11 students. The seminar will focus on:

  • How writing an argument varies with the purpose and imagined audience
  • Importance of structure
  • Revision techniques
