Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology
The Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology at La Trobe University is located in the Sociology Program, Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus in the School of Social Sciences.
The primary purposes of the Centre are to develop further the network of local and global contacts already established by the journal, and to seek to secure research funding to generate further innovations in critical theory while bridging the careers of graduates in transition.
Peter Beilharz is Director of the Centre and Trevor Hogan is Deputy Director of the Centre.
The social theory journal Thesis Eleven has been in publication since 1980.

WORD, IMAGE, ACTION: POPULAR PRINT AND VISUAL CULTURES FESTIVAL OF IDEAS

Tuesday 7th June – Wednesday 15th June 2011
The festival of ideas brings together a series of lectures, workshops, masterclasses and more, involving a diverse representation of centre, faculty academic staff and postgraduate students. The daily program provides further information related to when each of the activities commence. Conference registration is free and open to all - simply fill out a registration form.

Affiliations
The Thesis Eleven Centre for Cultural Sociology is a supporter of initiatives such as the International Social Theory Consortium and the development of centres of social and political and historical theory, and critical social and cultural thought.
