Institute for Human Security

The Institute for Human Security is a new university-wide institute, which endeavours to further interdisciplinary research on all aspects related to human security as defined by the United Nations and encourages an ongoing dialogue between academia, development agencies and policy makers.

Centre for Research on Language Diversity

The Centre for Research on Language Diversity (CRLD - formerly RCLT) is committed to comprehensively documenting and analysing the linguistic structures of endangered and previously undescribed or under-described languages. This commitment is part of a worldwide enterprise to document and preserve for posterity as much of the world's linguistic and cultural diversity and heritage as possible.

Research Centre for Greek Studies

The National Centre for Hellenic Studies and Research closed on 31 December 2008. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is currently in the process of establishing the new Centre for Greek Studies and further details will be available here shortly.

Centre for Creative Arts

The Centre for Creative Arts is an interdisciplinary research centre, based in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The Centre supports research in creative arts practices, including Media Arts, Theatre and Performance, Creative Writing, and Visual Arts.

Institute of Latin American Studies

The Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS), is Australia's first and Victoria's only academic centre dedicated to researching and understanding Latin America. It coordinates Latin American undergraduate/postgraduate teaching and research at La Trobe University. The Director of ILAS is Dr Ralph Newmark.

Thesis Eleven Centre
