Brief profile

Wendy has recently completed a doctorial thesis on the September 11 visual media story and the theme of tragedy. She has a PhD in cultural sociology, from La Trobe, and substantial experience in journalism - in metropolitan newspapers, magazines and news-agency reporting and editing. Wendy has worked as a news and features editor for The Age, and is one of the founding section editors of The Sunday Age. She is the lecturer in the first-year subject, 'Writing for the Media', and a support teacher in 'Broadcast and Electronic Journalism'. Wendy is working on a book chapter on 'The icons of 9/11' for Yale University book series.
