Brief Profile

Thomas Weber is a Reader and Associate Professor in Politics, La Trobe University. He teaches subjects on Peace Studies and Nonviolent Activism, with an emphasis on the thought and political activism of Mahatma Gandhi. His most recent books are: Going Native: Gandhi’s Relationship with Western Women (forthcoming 2010, Roli Books, New Delhi), The Shanti Sena: Philosophy, History and Action (New Delhi: Orient BlackSwan, 2009), Gandhi, Gandhism and the Gandhians (New Delhi: Roli Books, 2006), Gandhi as Disciple and Mentor (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2004), and edited with Yeshua Moser-Puangsuwan Nonviolent Intervention Across Borders: A Recurrent Vision (Honolulu: Spark M.Matsunaga Institute for Peace/University of Hawaii Press, 2000).
