Brief profile
Millowick was part of the National Gallery of Victoria Group Exhibition “Australian New York” in the year after her graduation from Prahran College of Advanced Education. Millowick worked in the photographic industry in Melbourne for 17 years, before her appointment as a Lecturer at LTU. She believes passionately in the power of the photographic image to change lives, and in her role as a Lecturer at La Trobe University, Bendigo Campus, she teaches according to that philosophy.
Millowick maintains a constant exhibition programme and her work moves across the genres of documentary – digital panoramas, the vintage technique of the photogram and narrative. Her commitment to documenting people and environmental conditions in her own region of Central Victoria is constant and ongoing. Millowick has work in the collections of The National Gallery of Australia, The National Gallery of Victoria, La Trobe Print Collection State Library of Victoria, Monash Gallery of Art, the Regional Art Galleries of: Castlemaine, Bendigo, Horsham, Warrnambool.
