Brief profile

Jennifer Hamilton-McKenzie’s joined the History programme in 2003, and teaches at the Mildura campus.  Her research interests include Australian regional history; the history of water management and irrigation; rural women’s history; and rural political campaigns.  She is currently working on projects involving the life of irrigation engineer, George Chaffey and the role of ‘boosterism’ in Victoria in the late 1800s.  Jennifer is also interested in tertiary teaching issues which affect the lives of rural women, and is working on a collaborative project in this area with fellow academics.
