The goals of the workshop are to:
- Network with graduate students and established scholars engaged in Japanese studies
- Gain insights into the supervisor-supervisee relationship
- Acquire a practical understanding of academic publishing
- Learn about strategies for a successful career
The workshop will encourage graduate students to network with one another as well as with established academics in a collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to present your dissertation topics to one another as well as to receive feedback from current supervisors and recent graduates. Well established scholars will provide participants with valuable tools and strategies to help postgraduates generate a successful publication record and embark on a promising career path.
Participants are required to prepare a three minute thesis description prior to the conference and submit it with your registration. You may consider entering your university's "Three Minute Thesis 3MT" competition in 2015!
The Workshop facilitators will be Professor Vera Mackie (Wollongong); Professor Carolyn Stevens (Monash); Dr Beatrice Trefalt (Monash) and Dr Naomi Kurata (Monash).
